Lillian: 2 Months

Lillian Cole,

Two months into this life, and you are simply a dream baby... towards the end of this month, you started sleeping.through.the.night. We tried not to get our hopes up at first, but this has continued to be the pattern for you. You are such a peaceful and content doll baby!

At this point, it seems that just when I memorize every inch of your sweet face, it changes the next day. One day, you look just like your daddy, and then the next day... well, you still look just like your daddy (and your biggest sister Charlotte, who also looked just like your Daddy). But each day brings a little something different, and I love seeing the way you change and grow. 

One of your major life milestones this month was that you got to meet the rest of your family... who traveled all the way from Thailand to see you!!! Okay, so maybe they were moving home anyways, but the timing was perfect in that we had already soaked up a month with you as our little family, and then we got to focus on celebrating their return home - and making the sweetest introductions :)

You joined us on our first date night since you were born, which included our favorite kabobs from Zoe's Kitchen (so fancy I know... but when you're prepared for marathon nursing sessions or potential diaper blowouts, you pick somewhere to eat that's quick and delicious ; ) Since it was pouring rain, we scrapped our plans of miniature golf and instead grabbed a latte and made our way into a cozy local board-game cafe, where you cheered your momma on to school your daddy in some friendly rounds of "Momma always wins". Good thing we aren't competitive at all...?! 

This month you gave your first SMILES! Simply the best. When I've been singing, dancing, and telling all the best stories to you for 2 months, it's a wonderful reward to see that you actually go from staring at me like I'm crazy....

to acknowledging that you think I'm fun... oh wait, I think your first smile was actually caught on camera for your Mimi and Didi? Either way, we love it!

You have brought so much joy to our lives, Lillian Cole! You are the purest ray of sunshine, and you've brightened our summer in the best ways possible.  We simply can't get enough of you, and we are so glad you're ours...
