Two Months!

Charlotte Ann,

You are TWO months old today! Just when we think you can't possibly get any cuter, you continue to fascinate us with your adorable developing personality. In the spirit of this Fall season, we've deemed you our "Little Pumpkin Spice" because your sweet personality definitely has some spice to it! (Not to mention, your hair is the color of all things fall :)

You tend to be very vocal, and you are already very opinionated about everything from how you want to be constantly moving to the way you want your left arm un-swaddled and positioned just so before you will fall asleep.  Speaking of sleep... we have finally turned a corner, hallelujah!  Around week 5, we moved you from sleeping in our room to sleeping in your own room, and you truly sleep better in your crib. You've gone from hour long crying sessions at night, fighting every urge to close your eyes, to now (most nights) being content to put yourself to sleep in your crib after being rocked and having a full belly. You are now sleeping soundly most nights for 5-7 hours at a time!

Our favorite development this month? Your SMILE and LAUGH! Your Didi was the recipient of your very first social smile, and your Grandma made you laugh for the very first time. You haven't stopped doing either one since! Playing on your activity mat and staring at ceiling fans are guaranteed to make you smile and squeal.  You also think your Momma's singing is pretty funny, and your Mimi's "talks" with you are a sure fire way to get a smile.

Your social life is beginning to expand - you started attending weekly Lifegroup and church with us, and you've met several new baby friends this month.  Our friends are always impressed at how well you handle being out and about, even in noisy gatherings. We smile because you sometimes are more calm in the midst of a room full of people than you are at home with us.

While you truly love being around people, you are also Miss Independent at times, completely content to be left alone on your activity mat or simply laying by an open door on a sunny day.

We are so grateful to have this time at home with you, watching you discover the world around you one day at a time! You are strong, vibrant, and beautiful, and we cherish each moment with you!

Love,

Momma and Daddy
