Heads or Tails

"Heads, Carolina. Tails, California Oklahoma.
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.

Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.

Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin'

Somewhere together. I've got a quarter.

Heads, Carolina. Tails, California Oklahoma"
(Jo Dee Messina)

The chorus to this 1996 hit country song has always resonated with me in regards to my desire to just pick up and go, hit the road, travel, see the world with my best friend and soulmate!  Born and raised in Oklahoma, JJ and I both have a special place in our hearts for the Sooner State...the big, open sky, breathtaking sunsets over golden wheat fields, hot summers at the lake, Sooner football, and the friendliest people on earth. However, when God opened the door for us to pack up and move east, we jumped at the chance to live in beautiful North Carolina...where the Carolina blue skies meet the ocean, the splendor of fall colors spill over the mountains, al fresco dining is found around every corner, and Southern hospitality (and sweet tea!) abounds.

Throughout 4 years of college road trips around the country together to snowboard in the Rockies, cheer on our Sooner football team in BCS Bowl games, travel to pharmacy conferences, and run 1/2 marathons in fun cities, we literally had driven coast to coast together, in addition to annual trips to South America.  Moving to North Carolina was simply the next big adventure, and 4 years later (plus an engagement, wedding, "grown-up" jobs, and countless other adventures)  we are still thankful that we took the leap of faith (together) and packed everything we owned into that U-haul.

We've been blessed to visit fascinating places around the U.S. and the world together, in addition to calling several places "home".  This blog will be an attempt to document our journey so that we can re-live the fun over and over again  -  everyday adventures, world travels, and the ways that God continues to write our story.

Welcome aboard the blogger bandwagon,
-L
