Charlotte Ann & Adeline Grace,
It is becoming increasingly difficult to do an "update" on one of you without integrating the other...and for that, I am SO thankful! You girls have formed and incredibly special bond very early on, one that I believe will last a lifetime. So, this month, instead of doing Addie's normal "4 month update" or Charlotte's "toddler update," I want to combine them to celebrate how much you two are intertwined, although still distinctly different!
Adeline recently turned 4 months old, and we celebrated her as we dedicated her to the Lord. This means we stood in front of our church family and vowed to raise her in a way that she would know her identity in Christ, and that we would extend unconditional love to her as we intentionally empower her spiritual and physical growth. It was so humbling and surreal to be standing here with Addie, saying the same vows that we said only 2.5 years ago with Charli!
Speaking of... Charli is now an adventurous, lively 2.5 year old who rides tricycles, sleeps in a "big girl bed," and just ran her first 5k race...seriously! At two years old, when you asked if you could "run" with Momma, we obliged and figured you would end up in the jogging stroller after a few blocks. Much to our amazement, although not a huge surprise to us, you ended up running most of the [hilly] course and crossing the finish line hand in hand with momma! Your determination, athleticism, and endurance continue to inspire us, and this event was truly one of the biggest highlights and best memories we've had this year.
Adeline, you continue to make us swoon with your pure sweetness. You have mastered the art of rolling over, and you are a constant source of laughter and smiles. We absolutely can not get enough of your snuggles, and we are just pretty smitten. You adapt well to change, and you transition smoothly between your days with our nanny, days with your Mimi, and reconnecting with Momma after being away during the workday. You continue to be one of the most calm babies we know, and you are sleeping through the night consistently!
While definitely our most extroverted, brave, and energetic "spirited" child, Charlotte, you are also an incredibly sweet, an intuitive friend, and a creative, insightful thinker. Your enthusiasm for life shines through your backseat-driving (GO FASTER Momma! It's Green!), heartfelt toddler prayers (in JESUS name, AMEEEEN!), and adult-like sentences (Okay, what are we going to do today? and Good job Momma, that's the way to do it!). This year, you started attending a "Children's Day Out" program 3 days a week, and this has really helped you blossom in your ability to share with others, express yourself through creative activities, and even take naps in a room full of other toddlers!

Sisterhood is a special thing. Charlotte, you are the best big sister to Adeline... the ways you love her, protect her, sing to her, and challenge her are teaching her about friendship and love. Adeline, you bring a calmness and peacefulness to your sister's energy and spunk. The way your personalities compliment each other brings the perfect balance to our family, and we are beyond blessed to watch you blossom together!
