9 Months

Charli Ann,

Our beautiful little blondie, it is amazing to think that you have now been in our arms for nearly as many months as you were inside my belly.  The past 18 months have been the most incredible months of our lives, but especially the past 9 months!

You Momma survived our first extended time apart; Momma and Daddy went to Minneapolis for a work conference, and you stayed home with your Mimi and Didi.  Your Grandma, Mammo, and Pappo also came to visit, and your cousins kept you plenty entertained while we were gone. You LOVE your people.

Last month, you were exploring what it felt like to pull from sitting to standing, and this month tested your limits by beginning to "cruise" around furniture. You learned the strength of your legs in your Jumparoo - you went from bouncing to JuMpInG and twirling.

This month you also discovered your words.  You've babbled and "sang" for months, but now you are saying "Ma-Ma," "Da-da," and "Nigh-nigh[t]." The baby sign language we've been working on is finally starting to catch on, and you are now starting to sign "more" and "all-done." You are one smart little cookie... and we are quickly realizing we better watch our words and actions closely, because you are like a little sponge!

As proud as we are of your growth and development, we are most amazed by the way God created you to be such a joyful child.  Before you were born, Momma kept having the vision of David dancing before the Lord with joy. Then, when we saw you on our second ultrasound, the doctor said, "Look - she is dancing!" And dance you did. Momma felt you move inside her belly when you were only 15 weeks along, a tiny dancing body...

Months before you were born, your Aunt Lauren was praying for you and felt like God was making you to be a child full of worship.  Then, a woman who we had never met before, prayed for us at church a few weeks before you were born and said she pictured you worshipping, dancing, with your arms spread wide...

Baby girl, you are a child of worship. You love to dance, arms spread wide. You are joyful.

Your face lights up when you hear worship music, and you "sing" along.  While most babies your age are in the nursery at church, we keep you with us during the worship music because you love it so much. As we hold you and sing, you kick your legs and sway along...arms spread wide.

We love you so much, our joyful, tiny dancer,
Momma and Daddy

P.S. This month, your name became famous overnight - you now share a name with Her Royal Highness, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge!
